What is Schema markup

When you want to get your content in front of as many people as possible SEO is the best method of getting there, you may have heard of Schema and wondered if it’s the same thing as structured data. We’re here to answer your questions. 

SEO, Schema and structured data are all very good at improving the ranking of your website which increases organic traffic. 

Structured data is code is called “semantic markup” which is added to HTML to assist search engines to understand the purpose of content and give more context to the content. 

Schema is a type of structured data vocabulary which allows you to add more context to your content. A combination of both Schema and structured data are very good at helping improve SEO

In a nutshell, Schema and structured data make it easier for search engines to understand what your website is about. 

What type Schema are there?

There are a nunber of types of Schema, but here we will list the most popular. 

  • Person – a way to identify, locate or describe a person.
  • Organisation – Describes your business and relevant information such as phone number, address etc.
  • Product – a way to describe a product you sell.
  • Place – A physical location.
